VSA's Professional Development Offerings
Supporting Vermont's education leaders in their professional growth to better serve all students.
One of the core pillars of the Vermont Superintendents Association's services is providing professional learning opportunities to VSA members, their faculty and staff, school boards, and policy makers.

Each year, VSA's professional learning plan is built upon current education research, an evolving policy landscape, and ongoing member feedback.

Professional learning opportunities include, but are not limited to:

-
Two long-standing annual conferences — VSA’s annual spring conference, held in conjunction with the Vermont Council of Special Education Administrators (VCSEA) and Vermont Curriculum Leaders Association (VTCLA) and VSA’s annual fall conference, held in conjunction with the Vermont School Boards Association (VSBA)
-
The Aspiring Superintendents Academy (formerly The VSA Leadership Academy), an intensive yearlong professional development program for educational leaders to explore or pursue the superintendency
-
Networking opportunities for superintendents and assistant superintendent, including three year All-Member Meetings and monthly superintendent topical "drop-ins"
-
Professional learning support to facilities managers and communications professionals
-
Ongoing support for incoming superintendents, including cohort activities, targeted training, and mentor matching
-
Year-long deep dive team programs focused on topics such as Universal Design for Learning, instructional leadership, and principal support
